WORLD ECONOMIC CHAMBER CHARTER
The Charter is the institution’s foundational document. It sets out the World Economic Chamber’s mandate, the authorities through which it operates and the principles that govern its conduct. It defines the Chamber’s role as an organisation dedicated to strengthening responsible cross‑border economic activity, establishing the expectations that guide its engagement with multinational institutions, public bodies and organisations involved in international commerce.
The Charter provides the structural clarity required of an institution that must operate across jurisdictions while maintaining independence, professionalism and respect for regulatory diversity.

The World Economic Chamber is constituted as an international organisation dedicated to strengthening responsible crossborder economic activity. This Charter establishes the Chamber’s mandate, institutional authorities and governance architecture. It provides the principles and procedural foundations through which the Chamber conducts its work with professionalism, independence and respect for the regulatory environments in which members operate.
Article I – Mandate and Institutional Purpose
The Chamber exists to support organisations engaged in international commerce, investment and economic cooperation.
Its purpose is to promote stable, transparent and responsible crossborder business relations.
The Chamber provides an institutional setting for dialogue, cooperation and professional engagement among multinational institutions, corporations, NGOs and government bodies.
All activities undertaken by the Chamber must align with principles of integrity, jurisdictional respect and longterm economic stewardship.
Article II – Founding Principles
Integrity: Members and representatives must conduct themselves in accordance with ethical business practices and respect for regulatory frameworks.
Independence: The Chamber shall remain free from commercial, political or sectorspecific influence that may compromise its neutrality.
Professionalism: Engagement within the Chamber must reflect disciplined, responsible and internationally aware conduct.
Constructive Internationalism: The Chamber supports cooperation across borders and sectors, recognising the shared responsibilities inherent in global economic activity.
Article III – Governance Structure
The Chamber’s governance is exercised through its Leadership and Executive Secretariat.
Leadership is responsible for strategic direction, oversight of institutional standards and protection of the Chamber’s independence.
The Executive Secretariat manages administrative operations, maintains institutional records, supports policy development and ensures procedural compliance.
Governance responsibilities must be executed with transparency, continuity and adherence to documented processes.
Article IV – Authorities and DecisionMaking
The Chamber shall act only within the authorities granted by this Charter and subsequent governance documents.

Article V – Membership Standards

Members must adhere to the Chamber’s Charter, code of conduct, principles, ethical standards and all applicable governance documents as in force from time to time.
Membership may be suspended or revoked for conduct inconsistent with the Chamber’s Charter, code of conduct, principles, ethical standards and any other governance documents as in force from time to time.
Article VI – Engagement and International Cooperation
The Chamber may establish structured channels for crossborder dialogue, professional exchange and institutional cooperation.
Engagement must be conducted in a manner that respects jurisdictional differences and regulatory obligations.
The Chamber may participate in policy discussions, technical briefings and cooperative initiatives that support responsible international economic activity.
Article VII – Records, Transparency and Institutional Safeguards
The Chamber shall maintain accurate records of governance decisions, policies and institutional activities.
Transparency must be upheld through clear documentation, consistent communication and adherence to established procedures.
Safeguards shall be maintained to protect the Chamber’s independence, prevent undue influence and ensure responsible institutional conduct.
Article VIII – Amendments
